Pierre Faraggi likes to evoke his music studies, started late at the Ecole Normale de Musique of Paris for which he still nourishes a strong affection and which he has later joined as a member of a piano class. All his life he has worked as a lecturer, a performer and a writer.
His meeting with Alfred Cortot, decisive for his evolution, has undoubtedly contributed to make his career an original and manifold one. Spontaneously he created the Groupe d'Initiation Musicale, an early stage of the future Conservatoire de Saint Cloud, the Friends of Music, where the most famous musicians of the time gave public performances:
Catherine Collard
Jean-Philippe Collard
Georges Cziffra
Samson François
Jean-Bernard Pommier...
Today completely devoted to his pedagogic action and his concert career, he makes himself the spokesman of a very committed conception of musical interpretation, nurtured by knowledge but enriched with his own feelings.
